Virtek brings its latest advancement to the EMEA region for the composites and aerospace industry segments. The new Virtek® Iris™ 3D with the Vision Positioning System (VPS) is an innovative combination of vision and projection, all in one integrated system. This new technology brings new levels of efficiencies only achievable with vision.

Virtek’s VPS is the latest addition to the Iris product line. This vision system delivers improved ease-of-use, reduction in cost of ownership, and portability, taking laser projection to applications that were too small and impractical to access.

Additionally, Virtek has rolled out its new Laser Projection System, LPS-10, now available for purchase. Visit Virtek at Advanced Engineering, stand #037 where our local staff, from Virtek’s new office in Manchester, will welcome you with a special demonstration of the new vision system.

“The new vision integration is well suited for aerospace manufacturing and is able to move between applications with its flexible set up and portability,” said Sean Francoz, senior product manager at Virtek. “The laser projection technology has proven to dramatically improve process efficiency in the composite and aerospace markets.”

VPS introduces a new feature called FlashAlign™, which provides instant alignment to a part. It helps recognize a tool in any orientation, anywhere within the field of view. The speed, robustness and intelligence of the technology enables flawless assembly, decreasing overall set-up time.

"We could save more than one minute on every alignment with FlashAlign. We no longer need to re-align before inspecting every ply. There are hundreds of plies in every ship set and these savings are huge for us," said a valued Virtek customer.

The new smaller, faster scanning system, available for a variety of assembly applications, is now portable and much easier to maintain. This next-generation technology is breaking the laser barrier in the industry and extends Virtek’s already leading-edge technology with a software platform that supports bothtargeted and targetless applications. Such support helps to accelerate the aerospace assembly process by eliminating templates, manual measurements and helps reduce human error while increasing quality throughout the manufacturing process.

“With constant change in our customers’ markets and processes they need flexible solutions that can move between applications,” stated Todd Rhodes, Virtek’s vice president and general manager.“Our customers rely on accuracy and precision because it translates to quality and safety, which are paramount to their end products. Virtek offers them more than 30 years of innovation, service and support to help them deliver reliable solutions that solve their production challenges.”

In addition to the VPS system, Virtek has launched a new Laser Projection System,

LPS-10, as a flexible offering to those customers who only require laser projection to maximize their productivity. The LPS-10 is compatible with the current LaserEdge and Iris software and comes standard with autofocus, avoiding the need for highly-skilled labor while increasing productivity by up to 50 percent.
